The Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect (Arch-301) validated the ability to design and drive multi-cloud B2B solutions that deliver business value across Salesforce products - connecting business needs to technical implementations across Sales Cloud, B2B Commerce, Service Cloud, Field Service, Account Engagement, Experience Cloud, MuleSoft and Marketing Cloud. It was aimed at experienced solution architects (Salesforce suggested around 4-5 years of solution-architecture experience). To sit it, you first had to earn the Application Architect credential (itself earned via Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, Data Architecture and Management Designer, and Sharing and Visibility Designer). The exam was architect-tier: a 67% passing score, $400 first attempt / $200 retake (plus taxes), scenario-based, delivered via Pearson VUE (through Trailhead Academy).
Because the B2B Solution Architect is retiring and can no longer be earned by new candidates, the useful question is: which staying credential should you pursue? Salesforce points architecture careers to the domain architect certifications and the Certified Technical Architect (CTA) track. Here is how they map, and where our courses fit.

This page is for anyone researching the Salesforce B2B Solution Architect certification. Here is what to do, depending on who you are: - You already hold it: nothing to do. It stays on your Trailblazer profile (marked retired from 2027), remains valid and verifiable, and needs no maintenance once retired. - You were already registered before 24 July 2026: you can still sit the exam until 31 August 2026. After that the window closes permanently. - You are just starting out: do not aim for this credential - you can no longer register. Choose a staying credential instead: Platform Data Architect or Platform Integration Architect (domain architect certs), and the Certified Technical Architect (CTA) as the pinnacle. - You are an employer: point your architects to the staying credentials above.
The Salesforce B2B Solution Architect (Arch-301) certification is designed for professionals who design and implement scalable Salesforce solutions for complex B2B business requirements. With the certification scheduled to retire on February 1, 2027, candidates should understand the current assessment requirements and consider the available Salesforce architecture credentials that align with their career goals. Reviewing the exam structure, key architecture domains, retirement timeline, and alternative certification paths can help professionals make informed preparation and certification decisions.
Certification details verified on 19 August 2026. Confirm the current retirement status and dates on the Salesforce 2027 Certification Retirements FAQ. The B2B Solution Architect retires 1 February 2027; registration closed 24 July 2026; last sitting 31 August 2026. New candidates can no longer earn it; existing holders keep it (marked retired). For a staying path, see the domain architect certifications and the Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
This is an information page about a retiring credential: - Existing holders: your credential stays valid (marked retired); no action needed. - Already registered before 24 July 2026: you can sit until 31 August 2026. - New architects: you can no longer register - choose a staying credential (Platform Data Architect, Platform Integration Architect, or the CTA). - Employers: point your architects to the staying credentials. We prepare candidates for the staying architect credentials - not for the retiring B2B Solution Architect exam.
