The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration certification is Cisco's expert-level credential for collaboration technologies - enterprise voice, video, messaging and conferencing. It is earned in two steps: pass the written core exam, 350-801 CLCOR, then pass the 8- hour, hands-on CCIE Collaboration Lab. This course prepares you for both, covering the collaboration scope: infrastructure and design; call control (Cisco Unified Communications Manager); QoS for voice and video; collaboration applications (voicemail, presence, conferencing); and edge and endpoints - all taught with extensive hands-on practice. A few facts matter. Cisco does not publish a passing score - the written exam's threshold is not disclosed, and the lab is graded pass/fail. The written core is delivered by Pearson VUE (about US $400); the lab is taken at a Cisco lab location (about US $1,600, plus travel). As a Cisco certification, it is valid for three years and is renewed by recertification (passing eligible exams or earning Continuing Education credits).
CCIE is one of the most respected certifications in networking, and the Collaboration track proves you can design, deploy and operate complex enterprise voice, video and conferencing systems at expert level. It is often associated with senior collaboration engineering, architecture and principal consulting roles. Because it requires passing a demanding written core exam and an 8-hour hands-on lab, a CCIE carries real weight with organisations running Cisco collaboration infrastructure.
