The GitHub Actions certification (exam GH-200) is the intermediate CI/CD and automation credential from GitHub (a Microsoft subsidiary). It validates the ability to build, secure and manage workflows with GitHub Actions. This course prepares you for the exam: authoring and maintaining workflows (YAML, triggers and events, jobs and steps, conditions, matrix strategies, environments, caching and artifacts); consuming workflows (marketplace actions, reusable workflows, contexts and expressions); authoring and maintaining actions (composite, JavaScript and container actions); managing GitHub Actions for the enterprise (GitHub-hosted vs self-hosted runners, runner groups, organisation and enterprise policies); and securing and optimising automation (OIDC, permissions, secret security, efficient runs).
CI/CD automation is central to modern software delivery, and GitHub Actions is one of the most widely used automation platforms. GH-200 proves you can do more than write a basic workflow - you can secure automation, manage runners, and operate GitHub Actions at enterprise scale. Because the exam was raised to a genuine intermediate level in January 2026 (testing OIDC federation, immutable-action enforcement and enterprise runner governance), it now differentiates candidates who really understand enterprise automation - not just workflow syntax.
