The AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA-C02) is AWS's certification for people who build applications on the cloud. It proves you can develop, deploy, secure and troubleshoot applications on AWS - the most code-focused of the three Associate certifications. It is a mid-level, technical certification aligned with real development work on AWS. You will cover the four exam domains: Development with AWS Services; Security; Deployment; and Troubleshooting and Optimisation. Expect heavy focus on the services developers use most - AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, IAM, and CI/CD tooling - and on writing code that works well with AWS behaviour. The exam is DVA-C02: 65 questions (multiple-choice and multiple-response) in 130 minutes, scored on a scale of 100-1000 with 720 required to pass. It costs US$150 and is taken at a Pearson VUE test centre or online with remote proctoring. You register through your AWS Certification account. The certification is valid for three years.
Cloud development skills are in high demand, and AWS is the leading platform. The Developer - Associate proves you can build real applications on AWS - the skill employers hire cloud and back-end developers for. It strengthens your position for developer and cloud- engineer roles, complements the Solutions Architect certification, and is a foundation towards the AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional.
