Course Overview

The IASSC Certified Lean Leader is the intermediate level of the Lean method - the point where you move from supporting improvement to leading it. Building on Lean fundamentals, you learn to lead and manage Lean improvement teams and projects, coach Lean Practitioners, and support the senior Lean Experts who set direction. Where a Lean Practitioner takes part in improvement part-time, a Lean Leader plans and runs improvement work, guides a team through it, and helps embed the results - often part-to-full-time. Lean is about efficiency and flow, so this remains a practical, hands-on qualification, with far less statistics than the Six Sigma belts. This certification is issued by IASSC and delivered by PeopleCert - the same globally recognised examination body behind PRINCE2 and ITIL. There are no prerequisites, so you can start here, though most people take Lean Practitioner first. The exam is a 90-question, closed-book, online-proctored exam, and the certificate is recognised worldwide with a public register and a digital badge. Lean Leader is the middle rung of the Lean ladder - above Lean Practitioner, and below the organisation-wide Lean Expert.
