The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) is the world's most popular entry-level cloud certification. It proves you understand the basics of the AWS Cloud - what cloud computing is, the core AWS services, security and the shared responsibility model, and how AWS pricing and billing work. It is designed for people who are new to the cloud, so it needs no experience and no prerequisites, and it is not a coding exam. You will cover the four exam domains: Cloud Concepts; Security and Compliance; Cloud Technology and Services; and Billing, Pricing and Support. Along the way you will learn the key AWS services (compute, storage, databases and networking) at a high level - enough to speak confidently about the cloud and to pass the exam. The exam is CLF-C02: 65 questions (multiple-choice and multiple-response) in 90 minutes, scored on a scale of 100-1000 with 700 required to pass. It costs US$100 and is taken at a Pearson VUE test centre or online with remote proctoring. You register through your AWS Certification account. The certification is valid for three years.
Cloud skills are among the most in-demand in the job market, and AWS is the leading cloud platform. The Cloud Practitioner certification is a credible, recognised way to prove baseline AWS knowledge - even with no experience - which helps you stand out for entry-level roles, move internally, or add cloud literacy to a non-technical career. It is also the natural first step towards AWS's higher-value Associate and Professional certifications.
