Course Overview

ITIL is the world's most widely adopted framework for IT service management, held by millions of professionals and used across most large enterprises. ITIL Foundation is its entry point - and Version 5, released by PeopleCert in 2026, is the biggest update to the framework in years. Version 5 widens ITIL from "IT service management" to "digital product and service management": it treats digital products and services as a single, end-to-end lifecycle, and adds substantial new material on AI governance, sustainability, and managing customer experience through Experience Level Agreements. PeopleCert describes roughly 40% of the content as carried over from ITIL 4, with the rest new or significantly changed. This course prepares you for the ITIL Foundation (Version 5) certification. You will learn the shared language and core concepts of modern service management, how value is created for customers and organisations, the guiding principles that shape good practice, and the key practices that keep digital services running and improving.
