CompTIA Linux+ is the recognised, vendor-neutral certification for Linux system administration. Linux runs most of the world's servers, cloud platforms and containers, so Linux skills are in constant demand - and Linux+ is the proof employers look for. You will learn to install and configure Linux; manage users, files, storage and processes; secure Linux systems; write shell scripts and automate tasks; work with containers and cloud; and troubleshoot when things go wrong. The current exam (XK0-006) puts extra emphasis on security, automation, containers and infrastructure-as-code - the skills modern DevOps and cloud roles need. Because it is vendor-neutral, Linux+ applies across all major Linux distributions, not just one. It is earned by passing a single exam (XK0-006), taken at a Pearson VUE test centre or online with OnVUE proctoring. There is no mandatory prerequisite, though CompTIA recommends around 12 months of Linux administration experience first. Linux+ sits on the CompTIA Infrastructure path (Network+ -> Linux+ / Server+ -> Cloud+) and pairs naturally with cloud and DevOps skills. This course prepares you for the Linux+ exam.
