CCNA Cybersecurity (200-201) - formerly Cisco CyberOps Associate (CBROPS) - is Cisco's associate-level security-operations certification. In early 2026 Cisco renamed it (CyberOps Associate became Cisco Certified Cybersecurity Associate on 21 January 2026, then CCNA Cybersecurity on 3 February 2026) and updated the exam to version 1.2. The exam code stayed 200-201; the tag changed from CBROPS to CCNACBR. It is built for blue-team / Security Operations Center (SOC) work and validates five domains: security concepts, security monitoring, host-based analysis, network intrusion analysis, and security policies and procedures. The v1.2 update added AI in security operations - using AI for monitoring and analysis, identifying AI-generated social engineering, the Cisco AI Assistant, and AI-driven threat intelligence. There are no formal prerequisites, though Cisco recommends a foundation in networking and security. The exam (200-201) is delivered through Pearson VUE - online with remote proctoring, or at a test centre - runs 120 minutes, and costs about US$300 (plus local tax). Cisco does not publish a fixed passing score.
CCNA Cybersecurity is the credential that maps directly to Security Operations Center (SOC) work - the monitoring, detection and response skills employers hire for. It proves you can do blue-team analysis, carries the Cisco name, is now current with AI in security operations (v1.2), and is recognised under the US DoD 8140 framework for certain roles - which matters for government and defence-contractor jobs. It is the natural step up from entry-level security and toward the professional CCNP Cybersecurity.

If you are brand new, CCST Cybersecurity (100-160) or CCNA (200-301) can come first. It is NOT aimed at network engineers who want traditional networking - that is CCNA (200-301).
