Certified Cybersecurity Technician (CCT) training and exam prep - EC-Council's entry-level, hands-on cybersecurity certification, with no experience required and hands-on labs.
Group Enrollment with Friends or Colleagues |
The Certified Cybersecurity Technician (CCT) is EC-Council's entry-level cybersecurity certification, created by the makers of the Certified Ethical Hacker. It gives people starting out a strong, hands-on foundation across four disciplines: network defence, ethical hacking, digital forensics and security operations. That breadth makes it an ideal first cybersecurity certification and a springboard into more specialised credentials. The certification is earned by passing one exam (exam code 212-82): 60 questions in about 3 hours (EC-Council states 185 minutes), taken online with remote proctoring. What makes CCT stand out at the entry level is its format - it combines multiple-choice questions with a hands- on, CTF-style performance-based practical on a live cyber range, so you prove real skills, not just theory. The passing score is commonly cited as 70%.
CCT is a strong first cybersecurity certification. Because it covers four disciplines and includes a real hands-on practical, it proves you can do the work - not just pass a quiz - which employers value for entry-level roles. It is a springboard: after CCT, you can specialise with Certified Network Defender (defence), Certified Ethical Hacker (offense), CHFI (forensics) or Certified SOC Analyst (operations). For students, its ACE accreditation may even count toward college credit.
