Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty training (AZ-140) - plan, deploy, secure and operate cloud desktops on Azure.
Group Enrollment with Friends or Colleagues |
The Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty credential (exam AZ-140) validates the ability to plan, deploy, manage, secure and monitor Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) - Microsoft's cloud service for delivering Windows desktops and applications to any device. This course prepares you for the exam: planning and implementing an AVD infrastructure (host pools, session hosts, images and networking); planning and implementing identity and security; planning and implementing user environments and apps (including FSLogix profile management and app delivery); and monitoring and maintaining an AVD infrastructure. There is no formal prerequisite for AZ-140. Microsoft recommends hands-on Azure administration experience - the Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) content overlaps heavily and is a good foundation - but you do not need to hold another certification first.
Remote and hybrid work made desktop virtualisation a core skill, and Azure Virtual Desktop is Microsoft's answer. This certification proves you can plan, deploy, secure and run AVD at scale - host pools, session hosts, user profiles with FSLogix, app delivery and monitoring. As a focused Specialty credential with no prerequisite, it is an efficient way for Azure administrators to add an in-demand, clearly-defined skill and stand out for remote-work and end-user-computing roles.
