The Professional Cloud Developer proves you can build scalable, reliable, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud. It covers designing highly scalable, available and reliable applications; building and testing them; deploying them; integrating Google Cloud services; and managing and monitoring applications in production. Expect hands-on work with Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, App Engine, Cloud Build (CI/CD), Artifact Registry, managed databases (Cloud SQL, Firestore, Spanner), Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, API management, and Cloud Operations (monitoring, logging, trace and error reporting). The exam has 50-60 questions (multiple-choice and multiple-select) in 120 minutes. It is graded pass/fail - Google does not publish a numeric passing score. It costs about US$200 and is taken online with remote proctoring or at a test centre, delivered through Pearson VUE. You register through Google's certification portal. The certification is valid for two years; you renew by retaking the exam.
