The Certified Penetration Testing Professional (CPENT), delivered as EC-Council's CPENT AI program, is an advanced, expert-level penetration testing certification. It uses live cyber ranges, 110+ advanced labs and 50+ pen-testing tools. The certification is earned by a 100% practical exam - there are no multiple-choice questions. It is a gruelling 24-hour, performance-based, hands-on exam on a live cyber range, taken as one 24-hour session or two 12-hour sessions, fully online and remotely proctored by EC- Council, followed by a penetration-testing report (typically within 7 days). EC-Council sets a cut score per exam form (the CPENT pass mark is commonly cited at 70%); score at/above it to earn CPENT, and score 90% or higher to also earn the elite LPT (Licensed Penetration Tester) Master credential.
