SAFe® Scrum Master Certification Training (SSM) | Agile Release Train in a SAFe enterprise.
Group Enrollment with Friends or Colleagues | Get a quote

SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) is the Scaled Agile certification for the Scrum Master role in a SAFe enterprise. A Scrum Master in a large, SAFe- based organisation does more than run one team's Scrum - they help that team play its part in the Agile Release Train, contribute to Programme Increment (PI) Planning, and coordinate across the wider programme. SSM is built for exactly that context. The certification is earned by attending a two-day SAFe Scrum Master course delivered by a certified SPC through an authorised Scaled Agile Partner, then passing the online SSM exam (access included, usually 30 days). There are no formal prerequisites to attend, though prior Scrum knowledge helps. In this course you will learn the Scrum Master's role in SAFe, how to facilitate the key SAFe events, how to support your team within an Agile Release Train, and how to prepare for and contribute to PI Planning. The current SAFe courses are updated and include AI-empowered ways of working. Your SSM certification is valid for one year and is renewed annually through your Scaled Agile membership. Note that SAFe Scrum Master is a different certification from Scrum Alliance's CSM and Scrum.org's PSM - it is the SAFe-context version.
As organisations adopt SAFe, they need Scrum Masters who understand how to work within it - not just at team level, but across the Agile Release Train. SSM signals exactly that capability, which is in demand wherever SAFe is used. For Scrum Masters who already hold CSM or PSM, SSM is the natural addition when they move into a SAFe enterprise.
