Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) training and exam prep - the job-role certification for data analysis with Microsoft Power BI.

Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) is Microsoft's job-role certification for data analysis with Power BI. It proves you can prepare data (connect to sources and transform data with Power Query), model data (relationships and DAX calculations), visualise and analyse data (build reports and dashboards), and deploy and maintain assets (workspaces and sharing). PL-300 is the successor to the earlier DA-100. The exam has about 40 to 60 questions and can include case studies. It is graded on a scaled score: you need 700 on a scale of 1 to 1000 to pass. Because scoring is weighted, 700 does not mean 70% of questions correct. The exam costs about US$165 (varies by region) and is delivered through Pearson VUE. There is no formal prerequisite, but Microsoft recommends familiarity with Power BI and working with data.
Data analysis is one of the most in-demand skills across every industry, and Power BI is one of the most widely used tools for it. PL-300 proves you can turn data into clear, shareable insights, supports data analyst and business intelligence roles, and is accessible to business professionals as well as IT. As a job-role credential it carries real weight with employers - and Microsoft's free annual renewal keeps it current at no ongoing cost.

PL-300 is a role-based Associate certification: valid for one year and renewed free through a short online assessment on Microsoft Learn (not lifetime like the Fundamentals).
