Eligibility

This is an expert-level, senior certification for experienced people who architect on AWS. It is ideal for: - Working solutions architects and cloud architects - Senior engineers designing AWS systems - Solutions Architect - Associate holders with real experience, levelling up - Enterprise and cloud-lead roles AWS recommends two or more years of hands-on experience designing and deploying on AWS, and the Solutions Architect - Associate (or equivalent experience) is strongly recommended first. There is no hard prerequisite - anyone can register - but this is a hard, expert exam, not a beginner course. If you are newer to AWS, start with our Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect - Associate course.

Exam details verified on 6 August 2026. Of the 75 questions, 10 are unscored trial questions that do not affect your result. The questions are long and scenario-based, and reward architectural judgement over memorisation. You register through your AWS Certification account.
